MICROBIAL ECOLOGY
In this week, Dr Wan take over the class for the PRINCIPLE OF MICROBIAL ECOLOGY topic. For this class, Dr Wan did some activity with us such as sharing information about microbial ecology and create a concept map. Everyone very excited and enjoy the with the activity. I got some new information from others class's members about this topic.
From this class I understand the Principle of Microbial Ecology:
- The ecology of microorganisms: their relationship with one another and with their environment. It concerns the three major domains of life—Eukaryota, Archaea, and Bacteria—as well as viruses. Microorganisms, by their omnipresence, impact the entire biosphere.
The hierarchy in ecology:
Homeostasis:
- Dynamic balance of processes, materials and organisms in the ecosystem and biosphere
Role of microbe in ecosystem
- O2 producer
- N2 fixer
